About Us

Hello, my name is Darien Marx. I am one of the owners and the original founder of Countryside Service Inc. Our story begins with me working for another drain cleaning company in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. I was uncomfortable with the rates we were charging to the working class and people with fixed incomes. We had no allowance to cut them a break. For this reason, my wife Yvonne and I (along with our children, Shontay and Dekota) decided to start our own business. We made a big move to northern Colorado to start a small repair shop. I was all over the place doing plumbing and heating repair, appliance repair, and drain cleaning. If you name it, I'd fix it.

In November of 1999, my wife and I came back to Grand Junction to visit my good friend Phil Sawyer, who I'd worked with at another drain cleaning company. He asked me if I still wanted to go into business with him and provide an alternative to high prices. Needless to say, we loaded up the truck and moved to G.J.! We incorporated in the spring of 2000, and the rest is history!
